FAQ

Is BPS currently an approved charter school?

Not yet. BPS is currently in the charter-development process. Information presented on this website describes the proposed BPS model and remains subject to authorization and applicable pre-opening requirements.

When does BPS plan to open?

BPS is planning toward an anticipated Fall 2028 opening, subject to charter authorization and successful completion of required pre-opening conditions.

Where will BPS be located?

A final location has not yet been selected or approved. BPS is evaluating potential Mississippi communities based on student and family need, community interest, facility feasibility, financial sustainability, and charter requirements.

Is BPS a performing arts school or an academic school?

Both - but academics remain fundamental. Performing arts are intended to provide additional pathways for engagement, creativity, communication, confidence, and learning rather than replacing rigorous academic instruction.

Will BPS serve students with disabilities?

Yes. If authorized, BPS will serve eligible students consistent with applicable federal and state requirements, including students requiring special education and related services.

Is BPS only for neurodivergent students?

No. BPS is being designed as an inclusive public-school community serving students with a wide range of strengths, abilities, talents, learning profiles, and needs.

Can families enroll now?

No. BPS has not yet opened enrollment. Families may join the BPS Family Interest List for updates. Joining an interest list does not constitute enrollment, guarantee admission, or create enrollment priority.

Will BPS charge tuition?

BPS is being developed as a public charter school. If authorized and opened as proposed, eligible students would not pay tuition to attend.

How can I support BPS?

Community members can join the interest list, participate in community engagement, introduce potential partners, support fundraising initiatives, contribute professional expertise, and stay connected to BPS development.
